The counters are set at a lower height of 800mm height, rather than the standard 900mm. This feature, and the fitted rubber bump strips are specifically designed for wheelchair users. Another wheelchair friendly feature is in the positioning of inclined mirrors - fitted to the rear of all serving areas, which enables students to see the food at a similar angle to able-bodied diners. Finally, glass edges are protected with a rubber edge strip to assist those users with visual impairment. Each of the Victor heated counters, designed in island formats, feature, four Synergy Bains Marie units with quartz heated gantries, six spring-loaded plate dispensers and cutlery counters. The straight-run refrigerated counter configuration houses two blown-air wells, a two-tier multi-tier, two plate dispensers, and a very popular ice cream conservator. Finished in a striking Latino Cherry and stainless steel laminates, with Angola black granite surfaces, the counters definitely bring the atmosphere of a high street restaurant to the Treloar College dining room.
