Impressive Counter At Coffee House
The new Inspirations Coffee House in Hartlepool, features a British manufactured eye-catching counter designed and built by Victor Manufacturing. The coffee house has opened to great acclaim, attracting 2,770 customers through its doors in the first month. Inspiration’s Coffee House offers a range of delicious food and beverages, including fresh coffees prepared by trained baristas.
The Hartlepool Borough Council Inspirations Coffee House and Garden Centre, was developed to contribute to the local authority’s strategy to generate additional income to help support frontline jobs and services during the current economic climate.
When designing the service counter, it was important to the council that the most energy efficient components were used, and Victor’s Optimax refrigerated display units were incorporated into the design of the striking granite topped counter. Optimax refrigerated units under laboratory tests have been found to reduce energy consumption by as much as 50% over comparable models.
An officer of Hartlepool Borough Council, who was involved in designing the layout of the service area noted: “We have found the Optimax units to be very effective, and the display cabinet complements the new servery area extremely well. The unit allows us to display the great range of food and beverages we have on offer to our customers, and always retains the correct temperature. As the coffee shop is a new concept, we cannot measure the energy savings against any previous use, but we are very happy with the performance of the Optimax cabinets to date.”
Peter Brewin, Marketing Manager at Victor explains: “Nowadays energy savings are a major consideration in any purchasing decision. And for any purchase of front of house display units, Victor can offer added value incentives such as genuine energy savings, product that can be adapted to fit in with chosen colours and branding; capacity to satisfy demand; and ease of access for restocking and cleaning.”
The Victor countering has a black granite top with toning laminate front and LED under-lighting, various back bar counters as well as the eye-catching Optimax units. These robust and versatile displays, with their stainless steel bodies and height adjustable shelves, facilitate the effective presentation of chilled produce while maintaining core product temperatures.
What singles Optimax chilled display units out from others currently on the market is that as well as conforming to EN 23953 M1/climate class 3, is the ingenious method in which they keep chilled air within the cabinet when the rear doors are opened. A common problem with constantly opening and shutting doors is that the refrigeration system is made to work harder, use more energy and create unwanted heat and noise in the workplace.
Victor’s engineers found the solution for its operator-assisted Optimax models devising a drop-down/lift-up rear, load-bearing door engineered to open in such a way to channel cold air under the middle shelf thereby minimising the loss of chilled air. The result is quick recovery, reduced load on the system and less energy used for pull-down.A flow of blown air over the front and side of the glass displays reduces the condensation build up in high humidity environments. This unique operation, when combined with self regulating micro-switch condensate boil off system gives a wide range of energy saving and operator benefits.
“Where operators use front of house merchandisers/display cabinets, more produce is sold. Customers will buy on impulse and this is particularly true where product is quite literally in front of their noses and showcased in an attractive and enticing manner,” concludes Brewin.
Victor Manufacturing offers an extensive range of British-built counters and food display units designed to offer caterers the best possible environment to show off their wares.
