The Brief
Sandburn Hall is a stunning golf resort, hotel and wedding venue situated on the outskirts of York.
Victor was entrusted to transform this clients existing Tykes Restaurant service space into a modern, self-service heated counter display. Featuring drop down heated pendant lights, chilled meat and fish display fridges which would complement and service the newly installed open kitchen space.
The restaurant space is housed in a barn conversion, and the client wanted a counter that complimented the rustic, homely feel of the building.
The Equipment
To keep to the rustic yet modern farmhouse style of the restaurant, we manufactured a counter with hand-finished real oak boards inset into a 50mm thick powder coated black stainless steel frame with a 5mm feature shadow gap around each board and finished the look with a textured grey Silestone top.
The installation needed to be multi-functional to meet the demands of a busy breakfast, lunch and dinner service.
We installed the following equipment:
- 2 x 6GN Ceran Tops with feature Drop Down Heat Lights
- 1 x Under Counter Hot Cupboard
- 2 x bespoke drop-in Ice Well
- Display Fridges
- and a separate Beverage Service Counter
The back counter consisted of a straight run with coffee and food preparation areas, utilising a mixture of cupboards, ambient shelving and fridges below.
The Result
The space now features a customer-centric counter with the ability to service more customers with a larger display area for both hot and cold display items.
The area is a more defined space with clean lines and subtle, modern industrial features that work with the existing environment to create harmony within its rustic farmhouse space.
