The Brief

Victor were tasked with redesigning and transforming the clients existing canteen space into a modern, contemporary and welcoming environment that would encourage staff to dine in.

The goal was to develop a layout which not only showcased the food offering, but importantly, delivered a better operational workflow for a larger and more varied customer base.

We worked closely with the team at Hermes to create a service counter that was large enough to accommodate the menus of both kitchen and front of house teams without compromise.

The space was transformed over 5 days during a period of lockdown in 2021.

The Equipment

To create a modern, sleek aesthetic, we used Black Sparkle Granite worktops with Matt Grey feature hexagonal tiling and Matt Charcoal Grey laminate housings complimented with premium Halifax Oak doors and Copper trim inlay.

The main service counter needed to be multi-functional to meet the demands of a busy breakfast and lunch service, so we created this solution using:

• 2 x 2GN Grab ‘N’ Go Multi Deck
• Soup Station
• Toast / Bread Station
• 1 x 3GN Self Help Salad Well
• 2 x Heated Plate Lowerator
• 1 x 4GN Ceran top featuring drop down heat lamps
• 1 x 3GN Deli Display
• Till section with impulse retail shelf

The back counter consisted of a straight run with coffee and food preparation areas, utilising a mixture of cupboards, ambient shelving and fridges below.

The Result

The space now provides a modern and inviting dining lounge with the ability to service more patrons in one sitting and features a large display area for both hot and cold food.

The office canteen now incorporates a restaurant service and display counter, delivering an enhanced food offering in a contemporary setting.
